sting-o-meter

(here I go again asking about obscure equipment - like the apidictor-that I did find plans for!)

has anyone ever heard of a sting-o-meter, it was supposedly developed by the US Government (Dept of Ag, maybe) and is a black box that you wave in front of a hive and then by counting the number of stings (bees killed, I guess) determine how aggressive the bees in that hive really are?

thanks in advance,
