For those that are attending the workshop for ‘Let’s build a bee yard’ , on Saturday, 3/12 – 9:30am through 12:00pm. The location is the Lords Acre, located on Joe Jenkins Road in Fairview, NC. Follow hwy 74A/old charlotte highway as if you were going to lake lure to travel into Fairview.
As you come into ‘downtown’ fairview, Angelo’s restaurant is on the left. Joe Jenkins road is on the right, almost directly across the road from Angelo’s. Angelo’s is approximately 7 miles from the blue ridge parkway at the 40/240 intersection. Turn right onto Joe Jenkins road.
The bee yard location can be seen from hwy 74a. it is in the center of the large field, marked by a white cross on top of the hill in the middle of the pasture.
Turn onto the dirt road to the left, marked by the Lords Acre sign. Follow the road to the top of the hill and park parallel in the marked area.
Everyone attending this workshop is required to sign a waiver for The Lords Acre. We’re including the form here so you can print it out and bring the signed copy with you. If you don’t have the printing capacity, we will have some forms there for folks to sign as well.
We will be reviewing the site, how we arrived at this location, which direction the hives will be facing as well as construction of the yard, stringing the wire and virtually all aspects of yard setup.
This will be a ‘hands on’ workshop, so bring gloves, dress appropriately. If you have goggles or some form of eye protection you may want to bring that as well if you intend on trying your hand at setting a post or stringing wire!
Please bring water, Gatorade or your personal choice of non-alcoholic refreshments to stay hydrated and comfortable during the workshop.
