Ashby will share his expertise in preparing colonies for success during the critical months leading into spring. Topics will include strategies for managing Varroa mites, planning for colony expansion, and making effective splits to strengthen your apiary. Whether you’re a seasoned beekeeper or just starting out, this presentation will provide practical insights and proven techniques to help your bees thrive.
About the Speaker:
Ashby Miller and his wife Cori own and operate Ashby Farms in Burlington, NC, managing approximately 500 colonies across 16 apiaries. Their work focuses on propagating Varroa mite-resistant VSH stock through rigorous selection criteria. In addition to producing Queens and Nucs, Ashby Farms is NCDA-certified for Sourwood Honey production and offers pollination services.
