It is a busy time for
both bees and beekeepers as the nectar flow is beginning. Many of you may have purchased nucs and/or
packages and are hopefully watching them thrive. While bees are gathering nectar and pollen and
rearing brood, beekeepers should be on the watch for swarming signs and may
need to be making splits or adding supers.
If you are a new beekeeper and have questions about what is going on in
the bee yard and what you need to be looking for or doing, the club meetings
are an excellent place to get answers to your questions. We encourage you to come early to the meetings
(@ 6:30) to chat and mingle with the more experienced beekeepers. They are an excellent resource and are happy
to give advice!
